Content & communications assistant · Remote

A content and communications assistant who writes, edits and actually publishes.

I've written homepages, service pages, sector pages and 60+ blog articles, then loaded, formatted and optimised every one of them. Writing and shipping are the same job to me.

What I take off your plate

The work, listed plainly.

Website and blog copy

Homepages, service and sector pages, and long-form articles written in your voice, not a template's.

Editorial calendar

A publishing schedule with owners and dates that holds up past week three.

Newsletters and internal comms

Drafted, edited, scheduled and checked before they land in anyone's inbox.

Proofreading and consistency

Style, tone and terminology kept consistent across everything published.

On-page SEO and image work

Metadata, headings, internal links, alt text, and photo clean-up so pages look and rank better.

Publishing and formatting

WordPress and Shopify uploads with links, images and layout checked before go-live.

Any of this sounds familiar.

More on how I work is on the about page.

  • —Drafts exist but nothing gets published.
  • —The blog stopped six months ago.
  • —Different pages sound like different companies.

How a week runs

Steady, not dramatic.

01

Keeping the calendar honest

Content calendars, campaign timelines, launch dates. I keep one version of the schedule, chase the pieces that are late, and tell you early when something won't land.

02

Doing the writing and the setup

Drafting blog posts and emails, loading them into WordPress, Shopify, Mailchimp or Klaviyo, checking links and formatting before anything goes out.

03

Handling people and suppliers

Briefing designers and videographers, onboarding vendors and partners, following up on the emails that would otherwise sit unanswered.

04

Pulling the numbers together

Weekly and monthly reports from Analytics, Search Console and the CRM, written plainly so insights are easy to understand and act on.

Where I've done it

Three industries, same discipline.

Commercial interiors & fit-out

The Interiors Limited

Sep 2024 — Dec 2025

The site went from very little organic traffic to a steady stream of enquiries, and the reporting rhythm stayed weekly for over a year.

International brand

Shekudo

Mar 2024 — Oct 2024

Launches went out on their dates, and the people involved always knew what was expected of them and when.

Community & events

Reclaim Wellness Co.

Mar 2023 — Dec 2024

Gather Market grew from 30 to 70+ brands, and I helped set up Gather Growth Club, a free community for women running small businesses.

The full case studies live on the projects page. Tools I work in day to day: Google Analytics, Search Console, Semrush, Ahrefs, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Go High Level, Bitrix24, WordPress, Shopify.

Two short case studies.

Commercial interiors & fit-out

The Interiors Limited (Kova)

The problem
A fit-out business with almost no organic traffic and no consistent publishing rhythm.
What I did
Ran the content plan end to end: research, drafting, uploads, image cleanup and alt text, plus weekly reporting.
Outcome
60+ articles published and a steady stream of enquiries, reported on weekly for over a year.

International brand

Shekudo

The problem
Launches, campaigns and collaborations running across multiple countries at once.
What I did
Coordinated creative partners, vendors and timelines for Lagos Fashion Week and the New York Awet store launch, alongside site updates and content planning.
Outcome
Launches went out on their dates, with everyone clear on what they owed and when.

In their words

People I worked alongside.

She made launching in a new market feel less overwhelming. From coordinating with our London stockists to handling vendor documentation and shipping schedules, she kept the moving parts in order without us having to chase her.

Questions

Before you email.

What does a content and communications assistant do?

A content and communications assistant writes and edits website copy, blog posts and newsletters, maintains the editorial calendar, proofreads for consistency, and publishes and optimises content in the CMS.

Can you write in our brand voice?

Yes. I read what you already have, ask a few questions, and send a first piece for feedback before scaling up.

Do you handle SEO too?

Yes — titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal links and alt text are part of how I publish, not a separate step.

How do we start?

Email me a link to your site and what you need written.

Need this handled from Monday?

Email me and I'll reply the same day. Hiring for something adjacent? Read Growth marketing assistant or Marketing assistant, or send a note through contact.
